Broadway Blitzing

Okay finally, my Broadway Blitz pictures. In 4 days I managed to see: Faith Healers, Awake & Sing, The History Boys, Insiders Tour of Wicked, The Wedding Singer, and Forbidden Broadway. In between we ate John's Pizza (yum) and Juniors cheesecake (double yum). Also saw Phil Collins and Big Brother's Monica Bailey at the CBS Early Show.

No wonder my feet were blistered raw when I got home.

<td>Cherie Jones</td>
<td>Cherie Jones

Cherie Jones was wonderful in Faith Healers. Cherie won the Tony last year for Doubt.</td>

<td>Ian McDiarmid</td>
<td>Ian McDiarmid

Ian McDiarmid. Biggest claim to fame? He was Emperor Palpatine in the Star Wars movies. Too cool right? He is also a brilliant British thesbian.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Ralph Fiennes</td>
<td>Ralph Fiennes

Ralph (pronounced Rafe) Fiennes (pronounced Fines) and he is fine. Very power performance. Shame he didn't win the Tony. Harry Potter squee moment in the play. Ralph's character Frances Hardy mentioned that his initials are FH same as Faith Healer. Continues on to say he could have been born Charles Potter and have been something else. Don't remember what because I was silently squeeing over him saying Charles Potter. (Charles Potter is most probably related to Harry Potter and is on the Black family tree tapestry making him also related to Sirius Black and Draco Malfoy!)</td>

SM and I had our act down for this stage door. She handled the Playbills and I took the pictures. Thing about this play - they only sign Playbills, so you have to see the show to get an autograph. </td>

Okay, I couldn't resist the temptation. This picture was practically begging to be taken.</td>

Idina Menzel's Elphaba dress. She will get a new one for the London show.</td>

<td>Wicked

Joel Grey's Wizard costume. They go to such detail for stuff you are never going to see from the audience. Grey is a very petite man.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Pablo Schrieber</td>
<td>Pablo Schrieber

Pablo was nominated for a Tony for his role in Awake & Sing. He really is the lead of the show and is very very tall. Coolness factor - brother of Liev, last years Tony winner and director of Everything Is Illuminated starring Elijah Wood. It all comes back to Rings eventually.</td>

<tr>
<td>Ned Eisenberg</td>
<td>Ned Eisenberg

Ned Eisenberg from Awake & Sing. Great character actor. He has been in everything including every version of Law and Order ever made.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Zoe Wannamaker</td>
<td>Zoe Wannamaker

Zoe played the momma in Awake & Sing. She is adorable. I love her eyes. Zoe was the 2nd stop on the Harry Potter Broadway quest. She was Madame Hooch is the first movie.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Richard Griffiths</td>
<td>Richard Griffiths

Richard Griffiths won the Tony award this year for his role in The History Boys. Wonderful play. He is stop #4 on the Harry Potter Broadway quest. He is Uncle Vernon Dursley in the films.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>The History Boys</td>
<td>The History Boys

I don't have a picture of #3 - Frances de la Tour - also a Tony winner. She was Madame Maxime, Hagrid lady friend in the last Harry Potter movie. I was so excited to see her I forgot to take a picture.</td>
</tr>

<td>The History Boys</td>
<td>The History Boys

I also didn't get pictures of the boys themselves. They came out of the stage door so fast! We did manage to stop a few for autographs and to chat. I mentioned football (soccer) and SM mentioned Manchester and we were chatting away. </td>
